FAME's GST A Success!
FAME International College Malaysia successfully held a GST workshop specially designed for the construction industry, last month. The 2-day GST Workshop was conducted at FAME International College campus in Brighton Square, Jalan Song. The GST workshop was a kick start in 2015 for FAME’s new initiative to cater for working adults and professionals.
FAME acknowledge the importance to be well informed about the Government’s implementation of a new Goods and Service Tax (GST) in our financial system, which will be taking effect soon in April 2015. The workshop was conducted by a GST consultant with over 20 years of tax consulting experience.
Participants of this workshop include directors, managers and accountants from construction companies. They were provided with an understanding on the impact of the GST implementation on the business and accounting operation in the construction industry and how to operate smoothly with the GST implementation. FAME will be looking into organizing more GST related courses to different industries in the coming months.
“FAME’s GST workshop has helped me to understand how the implementation of GST will affect my business and what I should do to prepare for it. I am interested to attend future related courses organized by FAME,” commented Mr. Chen, a director of a construction company.

Students who studied diploma at FAME are able to further their studies at universities affiliated with FAME such as University of Sunderland (UK), University of Portsmouth (UK), Oxford Brookes University (UK), University of Derby (UK), Southern Cross University (Australia), BPP University College (UK), Anglia Ruskin University (UK), Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) and FTMS Global KL.
Students who wish to study diploma courses can apply for the National Higher Education Funds Corporation (PTPTN) study loan, which is a low-interest loan of 1% or opt for FAME’s 0% interest, flexible monthly repayment scheme which can be paid over the period of up to 25 months. The college will fully assist students with their PTPTN application process all the way till submission.

Open Day 13th to 14th December 2014
Course consultation during previous Open Day
FAME International College (formerly known as FTMS College) is having its Open Day starting tomorrow, 13th December 2014 until Sunday, 14th December 2014 from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm. Those who come during the two days Open Day will be eligible to obtain FREE merchandises such as laptops and printers.
FAME International College is well aware of the public’s concern about the implementation of 6% GST next year. Fear not about GST! Even though FAME International College is in the 6% GST exempted category, there will be a 6% cash rebate for all courses except ACCA for January 2015 intake.
There will also be an extra rebate of RM 500 for those who register for January intake in which terms and conditions apply. Those who are interested to apply for scholarship may also inquire during the two days event.
Students may apply using their mock SPM results and can expect to choose their courses from Diploma in Accounting and Finance, Diploma in Business Administration, Diploma in Business Information Systems, Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) in their pursuit for higher learning.
FAME will be offering foundation in April 2015 and Bachelor programme in Business and Accounting starting in September 2015. All courses offered by FAME are fully accredited and recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA).
Students are able to further their studies after their Diploma at universities affiliated with FAME such as University of Sunderland (UK), University of Portsmouth (UK), Oxford Brookes University (UK), University of Derby (UK), Southern Cross University (Australia), BPP University College (UK), Anglia Ruskin University (UK), University of Essex (UK), Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) and FTMS Global KL.
Students can apply for National Higher Education Funds Corporation (PTPTN), a study loan which is a low-interest loan (1%) that is given out by the government to assist students financially.Students can be rest assured that the college will fully assist them in their PTPTN application process all the way till submission.
New rules apply to PTPTN loan amount effective from 1st November 2014. Parents who are BR1M receiver will be eligible to apply for 100% PTPTN loan. Household income less than RM8000 will be eligible for 75% PTPTN loan while household income more than RM8000 will be eligible for 50% PTPTN loan.
Course payments can also be made via credit card Easy Payment Plan (with 0% interest if paid within 12 months) with Public Bank, RHB Bank and Maybank.
Parents or students can also opt for FAME’s very own interest free, flexible monthly repayment scheme which can be paid over the period of up to 25 months.
Alternatively, payments can be made from the withdrawal of savings from the EPF second account for qualified EPF members.
Students are advised to bring along their mock or actual SPM results or UEC results and MyKad for consultation and registration purpose during the 2 days event.
In the month of December, FAME will have extended consultation hours, Monday to Friday (8.30 am – 9.30 pm) and Saturday and Sunday (9 am – 4 pm).

FAME International College to have first ever FAME FAIR!
FAME International College is going to have a FAME fair tomorrow, 22 November 2014. FAME Fair 2014 will be held in and around the campus of FAME International College at Brighton Square, Jalan Song.
During the fair, various stalls will be set up by FAME students and several vendors from Kuching. The event is the first ever organized by the college, with the main purpose for students to display and execute their business skills.
The fair is also to encourage the students to be actively involved in entrepreneurship and gain experience in managing a business. It is likewise part of FAME’s Corporate Social Responsibility to give back to the community, aspartial of the proceeds will be donated to Kuching Autistic Association and Sarawak Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA).
Students will work in groups to plan and manage their stalls and they will compete in teams in the running for grand prize of RM 1,000. Students will be judged based on creativity, marketing, organisation and sales.
“This will be the first time FAME organized a fair. We hope the students will have fun during the fair and we welcome the public to come and support us in the event,” mentioned David Chew, CEO of FAME International College.
There will be carwash, music, entertainment, recycle station apart from the usual stalls. Anyone interested can bring their old clothes, toys and books for recycling. The FAME Fair 2014 tickets can be purchased at FAME International College before and during the day itself.
