ASEAN-China Entrepreneurs’ Conference
This project (conference) is a joint effort of Sarawak Entrepreneur Association (SEA) and FAME International College (FAME), one of the leading private colleges in Sarawak and University of Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), a leading public university in Sarawak in collaboration with China’s Peking University (PKU).
The goal of this project is to provide a mutually beneficial and commercialization platform where Malaysian and particularly Sarawak local entrepreneurs can advance into Asia’s largest market by exploring and gaining insights into various businesses and trade opportunities with the Chinese counterparts through strategic business networking, sharing sessions, organizing awareness workshops and trade forums.
Sarawak Entrepreneur Association (SEA) is a non-profit organisation that aims to grow professional and young entrepreneurs in the state by providing an open platform and mentors from various backgrounds to support and guide up-and-coming entrepreneurs in the planning, building and promotion of ideas and businesses. The association aims to be a bridging link between Sarawakian entrepreneurs and the government for resources and support necessary to start, build and expand their enterprises.
FAME International College Malaysia (formerly known as FTMS International College) have been firmly established in Kuching, the capital of Sarawak, since 1998. FAME International College is a School of Business and Accounting with a focus in Financial, Accountancy, Management and Entrepreneurship, four disciples that represent the core of FAME International College.
is the eighth public . It was established in 1992 just after the declaration of. UNIMAS niche areas include rural informatics, viral diseases, biodiversity, industrial design and Borneo studies. This collaboration is part of an activity under the SPARK programme which is one of UNIMAS University Community Transformation Centre (UCTC) projects. The main objective of SPARK is to elevate local entrepreneurs to the global industries.
Peking University, commonly known in Chinese as "Beida", was established in 1898, and is one of the oldest universities in China. Peking University was originally named as the Imperial University of Beijing. Peking University has effectively combined research on important scientific subjects with the training of personnel with a high level of specialized knowledge and professional skill as demanded by the country's socialist modernization. It strives not only for improvements in teaching and research work, but also for the promotion of interaction and mutual promotion among various disciplines.
The Chief Minister of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Haji Adenan Bin Haji Satem is invited as the guest of honor for the conference, whereas the Senator, Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian as the advisor. The project is highly supported by the Malaysia federations and state government, China Consulate and private sectors.
The conference will be held in the capital of Sarawak (East Malaysia) – Kuching, which is a city located in the land of hornbills, Borneo island, the largest island in Asia.
The ASEAN-China Entrepreneurs’ Conference which is scheduled to be held on May 2016, will have the following line-up major events:
26 May 2015: Conference Project Launching & Press Conference
10 – 11 September 2015: Conference Preview Workshop (2 days workshop, 1 day industrial visit)
May 2016: ASEAN-China Entrepreneurs’ Conference (2 days conference, 2 days industrial visit)
Both of the workshop and conference will be a combination of critical information presentation, forums, company showcase, and business networking, industrial and government agencies visiting. Domain expert, well-known corporate speakers, successful entrepreneurs from both China and Malaysia, policies makers, relevant government agencies (i.e. Malaysia Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade), Ministry of Industrial Development (MID), State Planning Unit (SPU), China consulate, and etc) will be invited as the keynote speakers. Keynoted speakers will be presenting critical information such as business landscape, policies, incentives, new ideas, government’s economic development direction, local projects opportunities and etc. for businesses development, businesses collaboration and opportunities creation.
The Conference Preview Workshop in September 2015 is to prepare foreign and local delegates for the major Conference in May 2016, as this is a strategy to create continuation opportunity exploration, and develop business understanding over a period of time, in order to achieve better and solid business collaboration for the delegates.
There will be forum session in both Conference Preview Workshop and Major Conference, for participants to raise questions directly to the domain expert, policies makers, relevant speakers and authorities. This provides an opportunity for participants to gain more understanding of certain topics, and also feedback to the relevant parties of entrepreneurs’ concern and issues.
There will be company showcase stations at the Conference Preview Workshop and Major Conference venue. This is an opportunity for foreign and domestic companies to showcase their company profile, products and services to the conference delegates, and also general public.

RM 800,000 Worth of Scholarships to be Given Away!
As a continuous commitment in providing education, FAME International College is currently offering scholarships up to RM 800 000 for their Diploma and Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) programmes. For both programmes, students who achieved 7As and above in their SPM are eligible to apply for scholarship. Students can apply for scholarship by submitting their actual SPM result.
FAME International College offers Diploma in Accounting and Finance, Diploma in Business Administration, Diploma in Business Information Systems, and Diploma in Entrepreneurship. They also offer Certified Accounting Technician (CAT Qualification) and The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA Qualification).
Students who excel in sports or other areas of talent recognized at state or national level are also eligible to apply for FAME’s scholarship. Furthermore, as part of FAME’s contribution to society, the college offers hardship scholarships for all Diploma and CAT courses to students who come from single parent family or with household income of less than RM2000 per month.
After completing their Diploma in FAME, students are able to further their studies at universities affiliated with FAME such as University of Sunderland (UK), University of Portsmouth (UK), Oxford Brookes University (UK), University of Derby (UK), Southern Cross University (Australia), BPP University College (UK), Anglia Ruskin University (UK), Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) and FTMS Global KL.
In addition to the courses, FAME is offering International English (IELTS) programme to students who feel the need to improve their English as a preparation for further academic studies. The English programme will be a 3 months course addressing the four dominant skills of the English language: reading, writing, listening and speaking. The programme is also suitable for anyone who wishes to equip their English before sitting for IELTS. Students can opt to sit for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) after completing the English programme.
Students who wish to study in FAME can apply for National Higher Education Funds Corporation (PTPTN), a study loan which is a low-interest loan (1%) that is given out by the government to assist students financially. Effective 1st of March 2015, students can register for their SSPN account in FAME. FAME is authorised by PTPTN to receive SSPN registration for PTPTN application purposes therefore, students no longer need to register their SSPN account at PTPTN office. The college will fully assist students in their PTPTN application process all the way till submission with no additional charge.
Parents or students can also opt for FAME’s very own interest free, flexible monthly repayment scheme which can be paid over the period of up to 25 months. Alternatively, payments can be made from the withdrawal of savings from the EPF second account for qualified EPF members.
FAME will be participating in the upcoming Borneo Post International Education Fair (BPIEF) at Borneo Convention Centre (BCCK) on 21st and 22nd March 2015. On the same days, the college is welcoming the public to visit the campus located at Jalan Song, Brighton Square for their Info Day. FAME International College to Assist Students in Job Search
FAME International College (formerly known as FTMS International College) is determined to assist their students in securing a job after graduation. FAME has set up a Student Affairs Department last year with the aim to provide an outstanding service to their students in achieving their career goals, as well as to employers out there seeking candidates in the business and accounting field.
FAME International College is a reputable accounting and business school offering Diploma in Business Administration (DBA), Diploma in Accounting and Finance (DAF), Diploma in Business Information Systems (DBIS) to Diploma in Entrepreneurship (DIE). FAME is an acronym for Finance, Accounting, Management and Entrepreneurship which are the core themes of the college.
The Student Affairs Department was established as a channel to assist existing FAME students to find a job related to their field of study. In the past, the college had coordinated a career talk for the students from Jobstreet.com and will continue to organize a series of workshops for their final year students who are about to graduate to prepare them for their future job application. The workshops will include resume writing, grooming and presentation skills during jobs interviews.
The department is also an ideal stepping stone for fresh graduates as well as old graduates to seek employment with extra support. The department is dedicated to guide fresh graduates of FAME to look for jobs as they embark into the working world after graduating. To fully benefit from this service, FAME students and graduates are encouraged to seek advice and guidance from the department to increase their chances of being employed in their field.

Besides having the students’ interests at heart, the Student Affairs Department also serves as a platform for employers to advertise jobs. The department aims to provide quality trainees and employees to employers out there. It facilitates employers to find suitable candidates to fill in their job vacancies in their companies.
Student Affairs Officer, Harry Hii commented, “We have been receiving request from various companies seeking candidates to work for them. We are confident to assist our students to get the job they want.”
FAME does not only strive to help students to excel in academics but to also prepare them to do well in other aspects in life. FAME understands the importance of cultivating good character and useful skills to its students. FAME organizes soft-skills training each year to their students to enhance their emotional intelligence (EQ) which plays an important part in determining one’s success in life.
FAME gives opportunities to its students to be involved in real-life business related cases in their lessons and are encouraged to integrate their skills in organizing various activities. Over the years, FAME students have organized several events yearly such as Halloween Night, FAME Race and Challenge, Buffet Dinner Gathering, BBQ trips, Prom Night and charity events.

FAME International College (formerly known as FTMS College) is having its Open Day starting tomorrow, 13th December 2014 until Sunday, 14th December 2014 from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm. Those who come during the two days Open Day will be eligible to obtain FREE merchandises such as laptops and printers.
FAME International College is well aware of the public’s concern about the implementation of 6% GST next year. Fear not about GST! Even though FAME International College is in the 6% GST exempted category, there will be a 6% cash rebate for all courses except ACCA for January 2015 intake.
There will also be an extra rebate of RM 500 for those who register for January intake in which terms and conditions apply. Those who are interested to apply for scholarship may also inquire during the two days event.
Students may apply using their mock SPM results and can expect to choose their courses from Diploma in Accounting and Finance, Diploma in Business Administration, Diploma in Business Information Systems, Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) in their pursuit for higher learning.
FAME will be offering foundation in April 2015 and Bachelor programme in Business and Accounting starting in September 2015. All courses offered by FAME are fully accredited and recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA).

New rules apply to PTPTN loan amount effective from 1st November 2014. Parents who are BR1M receiver will be eligible to apply for 100% PTPTN loan. Household income less than RM8000 will be eligible for 75% PTPTN loan while household income more than RM8000 will be eligible for 50% PTPTN loan.
Course payments can also be made via credit card Easy Payment Plan (with 0% interest if paid within 12 months) with Public Bank, RHB Bank and Maybank.
Parents or students can also opt for FAME’s very own interest free, flexible monthly repayment scheme which can be paid over the period of up to 25 months.
