FAME International College received good response from Indonesian students during their school visits and education fairs in Jakarta and Balikpapan in early October. The school visits created awareness to Indonesian students about the available options of studying at FAME in Kuching, a place closer to home which offers a promising higher education. FAME believes it serves to international students as an excellent stepping stone regardless if they intend to advance their studies in further places such as United States and United Kingdom after they graduate from FAME or not.
“Students will be away from home for the first time and they are learning to be independent in a new place. Kuching is similar to their hometown, which reduces their culture shock when compared to places like United Kingdom where there will be vast differences in the environment and culture. Top-up with FAME’s culture where everyone is like a family, students will feel easy to adapt in their new environment before facing more challenging ones in the future,” said CEO of FAME International College, Mr. David Chew.
The school visits also strengthen the relationship between FAME and the local schools. It was a great opportunity for FAME to get to know the school officials and students personally and finding out their needs in terms of studying abroad. The students were excited with the studying abroad options and view studying overseas as a privileged choice.
FAME offers Diploma in Accounting and Finance, Diploma in Business Administration, Diploma in Business Information Systems, Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) and The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Qualification. All courses offered are fully accredited and recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA).

FAME is also working with University of Cumbria and is hoping to launch foundation studies and degree programmes in 2015. SPM leavers will be required to enter degree programmes via foundation studies whereas, students who have graduated from FAME will be able to further into their degree via a direct entry into Year 2 of University of Cumbria’s degree programmes.
The degree programmes from University of Cumbria will be relevant to FAME’s existing graduates and programmes, allowing students to attain a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Cumbria while completing their studies in Kuching.
For all Diploma courses, students can apply for National Higher Education Funds Corporation (PTPTN) study loan, a low interest (1%) loan given out by the Malaysian Government to assist students financially. Students can be rest assured that the college will fully assist them in their PTPTN application process all the way till submission.
Parents or students can also opt for FAME’s very own interest free, flexible monthly repayment scheme which can be paid over the period of up to 25 months.
Otherwise, qualified EPF members can withdraw their savings from the second account to finance their studies at FAME.
