FAME International College 20th Graduation Ceremony

FAME International College (FAME) is celebrating its 20th Graduation Ceremony at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching on 22 October 2023.

A total of 138 graduates received their scrolls at the college’s 20th graduation ceremony today.

Deputy Premier of Sarawak Yang Berhormat Datuk Amar Professor Dr. Sim Kui Hian graced the event as the guest of honour. Also present was FAME chairman YBhg Tuan Haji Ikhwan Bin Zaidel.

Joining in the celebration were representatives from the college’s university partner, the University of Cumbria, United Kingdom, Ms. Dee de Rocha, International Director and Mr. David McGregor, Head of Collaborative Provision.

Also present were FAME’s chief executive officer Mr. David Chew and head of academic Ms Liew Yu Sun. The event was joined by members of the board of directors, industry partner representatives, school principals, parents and friends of the graduands. YB Datuk Amar Professor Dr. Sim Kui Hian presented scrolls to graduands who had successfully completed the bachelor’s degree, diploma, foundation and certificate programmes. The event cumulated with the presentation of best student awards for the different programmes. Yeo Hui Shi was named the best student from the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Business Management, Accounting and Finance while Tan Siang Siang was awarded the best student from the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) International Business Management. From the diploma programmes, the Diploma in Accounting and Finance Best Student award went to Darren Lawai Choo Neng Sze. Other recipients of best student awards were Then Li Jie (Diploma in Business Administration) and Alwin Tay Jing Xue from the Diploma in Computer Science programme.

FAME International College chairman Yang Berbahagia Tuan Haji Ikhwan Bin Zaidel presented the best student awards to the high achievers from the bachelor degree programmes, whilst David Chew, chief executive officer, handed best student awards to recipients of the home-grown programmes.

Tan Shiang Shiang gave a vote of thanks on behalf of all the graduates. Jacky Hansen, an international student, shared his experience in his journey with FAME.   There are many FAME alumni in the various sectors of the economy making their contributions back to society. The college also nurtured many who have become successful business entrepreneurs in different industries of the Sarawak economy.
