About Wawasan Open University

Established in 2006, Wawasan Open University (WOU) is a pioneer in Open Distance Learning (ODL) in Malaysia. Since welcoming its inaugural class in 2007, WOU has remained committed to providing accessible, flexible and online higher education for adult learners from all walks of life. The University adopts a career-focused approach that encourages lifelong learning while enabling learners to pursue higher education alongside their personal and professional commitments.

WOU offers a wide range of programmes, from diploma and degree qualifications to postgraduate studies, microcredentials and corporate training. All programmes are approved by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). Today, WOU has more than 30,000 student enrolments, offers over 100 online programmes, and is supported by more than 2,000 teaching staff, reflecting its commitment to delivering quality, flexible education.
